About the Position
We are seeking skilled and experienced Drillers/Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team in the geotechnical construction field. The ideal candidates will have experience working with deep foundation members, shoring elements, and ground improvement methods. This position requires the ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently in challenging construction environments. This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and additional rules and regulations may apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain heavy drilling and construction equipment such as drill rigs, excavators, cranes, and other heavy machinery.
- Install and assist with the installation of deep foundation elements, including micro piles, helical piles, push piers, and similar systems.
- Work around and install shoring elements such as soil nails, tiebacks, and soldier pile walls.
- Support ground improvement activities, including grouting, soil mixing, and other soil stabilization techniques.
- Adhere to project plans, ensuring work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations on job sites, including those specific to safety-sensitive positions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily work activities, equipment uses, and safety compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Will be responsible for giving directions and guidance to drill helpers.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proven experience as a Driller or Heavy Equipment Operator, specifically within the geotechnical construction field.
- Strong knowledge of deep foundation systems (micropiles, helical piles, push piers, etc.), shoring elements (soil nails, tiebacks, soldier pile walls), and ground improvement methods (grouting, soil mixing).
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and drilling machinery in varying field conditions.
- Valid certifications and licenses related to heavy equipment operations, i.e. CDL, OHSA, NCCCO, etc. (preferred).
- Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in construction, particularly in safety-sensitive environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in challenging environments, including harsh weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insurable
- Ability to pass a Medical Test with a 50 lb. lift test.
- Pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol test.

Pay: $28.00 – $42.00 per hour
