About the Position

We are seeking experienced drillers who are experienced in operating geotechnical, construction, and environmental drilling activities. Exploration Professionals will install monitor wells, collect drilled soil samples, install slope and foundation stabilizers, and perform other geotechnical-related work. This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and additional rules and regulations may apply.

Duties include:

  • Mobilization in setting up drill sites.
  • Operates drilling equipment at various depths.
  • Trains and directs drill helpers.
  • Maintain and operate geotechnical drill rigs for subsurface explorations.
  • Working alongside and communicating with clients, engineers, geologists, and others.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly job site.
  • Accurately document reports and timesheets (Daily DDRs, DFRs & timesheets).
  • Identify and execute tasks without direction on the job site and in the shop.
  • Regular lifting and carrying 50-75 lbs.
  • Travel and out-of-town stay required throughout the P.N.W.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Pre- and post-vehicle and equipment inspections.

Supervisory Requirements:

  • Will be responsible for giving direction and guidance to drill helpers.


  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Driller operator license in Washington State.
  • Driller licenses in other states, such as Idaho, Oregon, and Montana, are preferred but not required.
  • At least two years of drilling experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug and alcohol test.
  • Ability to pass a Medical Test with a 50 lb. lift test.
  • Willingness to work in the field in remote areas with varied weather conditions.
  • Handles the job’s physical demands, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
  • Works well independently and with a team.
  • Able to take directions and instructions.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Class A CDL (preferred).

  • Employee minimum availability M-F, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. Check-in with the department manager is required before the end of the shift if within these hours. Notification to the department manager prior to shift is required if the employee is unable to be available or unfit for duty.
  • Longer hours and weekend availability may be required; project dependent.
  • Full-time not guaranteed.
