About the Position
We are seeking experienced Exploration Drillers and Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in geotechnical and environmental drilling activities. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting drilled soil/rock samples, installing monitor wells, installing slope inclinometers, and performing other geotechnical-related work. This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and additional rules and regulations may apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of drilling equipment and techniques, including core drilling, auger, air rotary, sonic, and other geotechnical drilling methods.
- Operate and maintain drilling and heavy equipment such as drill rigs, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
- Knowledge and ability to perform site investigations and assist with subsurface data collection for geotechnical analysis.
- Ability to collect samples of soil/rock from various depths and formations.
- Adhere to project plans, ensuring work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations on job sites, including those specific to safety-sensitive positions.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily work activities, equipment uses, and safety compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Will be responsible for giving directions and guidance to drill helpers.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Driller operator license in Washington State (preferred).
- Driller licenses in other states, such as Idaho, Oregon, Montana, are preferred but not required.
- At least two years of drilling experience in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling activities.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical sampling methods and soil/rock properties.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and/or drilling machinery in varying field conditions.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices, particularly in safety-sensitive environments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in challenging environments, including harsh weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insurable
- Ability to pass a Medical Test with a 50 lb. lift test.
- Pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol test.

Pay: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour
