About the Position
We are looking for a motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Estimator/Project Controller for the Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection and the Materials Laboratory departments. The Estimator/ Project Controller will provide estimates, update projects, communicate with clients, and oversee the budget and final billing.
Duties include:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required resources.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions.
- Attend pre-bid conferences and work with the Business Development Lead to secure new projects.
- Ability to look beyond the given information, ask the right questions, and work to provide a complete project cost evaluation.
- Preparing client and subcontractor change orders.
- Communicate with clients regarding estimates, contracting, and project notifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, providing excellent customer service with customers and subcontractors to foster successful projects.
- Submit and accurately track the project’s accounting/finance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or comparable education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and use company software for project data entry and dissemination.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Pay: $30.00 – $60.00 per hour
